A story about Bali

What's the first occurred in your mind when you heard about BALI? the beautiful beach? tourism destination ? Don't think that much simple. I had been living there for five years. At that time i saw the strong indigenous culture...hmm so interesting..okay we'll talk about it later.

Why i talked about BALI because there's many object interest in Indonesia? Maybe many people asked that...it just because I have been living there for 5 years..and it seems like my second home beside Jakarta.

 My severals time at Bali

On 12-14 March 2010 I went to Bali again..with my office friends..a short trip but make me miss my first time there.
Many place you can visited like :
  • the worship place like Pura,
  • the shopping place like Sukawati traditional market,
  • and beaches like Kuta or Nusa Dua

Couple pictures taken while I was there

( Tanah Lot - Taken March 14th 2010 )

Tanah Lot is one of the most popular place of interest in Bali, is located on the coast of West Bali, at the village of Beraban in the Tabanan Regency. There's two temple located on a large rock. One is located on the boulder and one at the cliff.

Tanah Lot is famous for its sunset view. I also take the picture of it as you can see above. I've waited so long just for took that sunset picture  You will saw many tourist there watching the sunset mostly at 6.00pm WITA.  From the parking lot to the temple area we often found many art shop and dining places. You can shop while waiting for the sun goes down and take a picture of it

NYEPI DAY

When i went to Bali yesterday before, Balinese people was in preparation for Nyepi day. Nyepi is one of the major holidays in Bali. At that time none of Balinese people come out from home..None of them doing activities too. You'll see the street is empty from people. I've been follow Nyepi for five years at Bali. No activities, No lights, and no sounds too. Ngurah Rai airport is also closed for arrivals and departures flights. Only "pecalang" will come out and guard the street during the day.

For this year, Nyepi was fall on Tuesday, 16 th of March 2010. As you can see in my picture, street is empty from people. One day before Nyepi is called Pengrupukan day..at this day Balinese people will do the "Ogoh-Ogoh carnival"

Ogoh-ogoh usually paraded from villages to villages. I often waited them to come at the beach side, just to saw many Ogoh-Ogoh there. Many people will come too so there will be too crowded at the street. Ogoh-ogoh it self is a giant doll made from bamboo and looks like an evil . People believe that the Bhuta Kala (Evil) will go out from their place to be in Humans belongings/place.

This year ogoh-ogoh parade was held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at Public Square of Beraban Village. This year ogoh-ogoh parade was held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at Public Square of Beraban Village.
